Uzbekistan: Modernization of transport infrastructure

Much work is being done to improve the transport services to the population in the Khorezm region. Since public transport is the main carrier of passengers, streamlining activities in providing services to passengers is the main task of the Khorezm regional administration of the agency "Uzavtotrans". The issues of improving the provision of population with motor transport services are considered at the production meetings and the meetings of the tender commission for the placement of urban and international routes.

Today, the total number of vehicles that received a license to provide transportation services to the population is 5,801 units. They include passenger buses – 412, minivans - 165, freight vehicles - 1 595 and cars - 3,629 units.

Only in April, compared with March of the current year, the number of licensed motor vehicles increased by 188 units, which paid to the state treasury a fee of 64 million 218 thousand soums. In order to create a competitive environment in the market of motor transport services and equal conditions for all carriers, passenger routes are distributed through tenders, during which new passenger routes are established.

According to Ruslan Ruzmetov, the head of the Khorezm regional administration of the “Uzavtotrans” Uzbek agency, two new route lines have been opened to improve the transport services provided to the population by two farmer associations of the Kushkupyr district. Today, new bus passenger messages have been certified and test trips completed on these routes.

LLC "Yangiariq trans" in the center of Yangiarik district a new bus station has been built, which can simultaneously take 8 buses of different route lines.

From year to year, the number of vehicles on the roads of Khorezm is growing. This fact testifies to the growing well-being of local residents. In order to provide quality passenger transportation services, preventive measures, meetings and conversations with drivers are carried out and the technical and sanitary condition of vehicles is improved.

The regional administration of the agency "Uzavtotrans" continues its activity in ensuring stable operation of public transport and providing quality services to the population, contributing to the improvement of the market for motor transport services.
